What is Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA)?
Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) also known as Intelligent Conversational System that is used and implemented in the Internet of things (IoT) and modern operating systems like Microsoft's Cortana, Google's Virtual Assistant, Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, and many more. It helps in interacting with users for human-like responses. It is believed to be the evolution of services in an intelligent way to meet the demands for connectivity and mobility in modern devices. The advancement in ongoing devices like smart assistants and smart home automation is capturing the interests and collusions of customers. It takes input as conversational voice commands and gives the output as an individual contact point that effortlessly engrosses a wide range of information. Nowadays, the majority of gadgets depend upon cloud-based storage administrations. It enables the user's overall productivity, minimizes the stoppages of his workflow, and optimize his resources. It engages the ability to communicate on the social platform through Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and examination of data concerning the user's context. Through this, users become active participants during online interaction. It plays a significant role in producing frames with services that propose a disturbance-free, fast, and simple connection on which users can communicate.
Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) is a term that can simulate physical presence in places in the real world which applies to the computer-simulated environment. It is interactive technology. Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) and their current implemented software exist in a wide range of modern applications usually, cohesive in the operating system (OS) from different organizations and developers such as in the Internet of Things (IoT), personal computers and mobile phones, etc. There are many ways to communicate with others but listening and speaking feel more freely and natural for us, humans. Intelligent Personal Assistants are made up of many programming languages and behave differently but all types are fall in the same branch of computer sciences. To create this system Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) are essential parts. The more the system develops, the more the scope of computer sciences involves as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) have also played a vital role in the implementation of it.
Many computer' relevant organization such as Apple Inc., Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and more have their own Intelligent Assistant based system known as Siri, Google's Assistant, Cortana, Alexa, and more respectively. Through IPA users and systems can interrelate through multiple semantical tasks by using natural language dialog. An IPA must-have capabilities of asking aspect-based questioning while searching for the conversation in the right order to understand the user's needs.
Nowadays, many smart speakers and chatbots are designed and developed in such a way that IPA can be implemented on them. Intelligent Personal Assistant tries to interact with human-like responses. It also tries to find useful information that the user commands it to find and helps in completing the specified task that the user specifies to it. IPAs are also implemented in automobiles so that they can enhance the user's experience because people prefer to give voice commands rather than long lost difficult typing. IPA is expected to perform specific tasks i.e. messaging, contact management, call control, internet applications, and intranet applications, etc.
