Best Books to read

           Why is it important to read books? Is it just joy or happiness we got by reading them, or we read them by just spending our free time? I will tell you the answer to these questions. Reading books is important for us. They train our imagination to think big, reduce stress, boost our knowledge, improves our vocabulary and memory, improves concentration on things, and for entertainment. Reading books gives us joy. As we all know, a proverb “Books are the most faithful best friends.” All successful people have a habit of reading books. It is important to choose the best books to read. I will tell you six books that you need to read.

  1. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This novel was published in 1960 and got a Pulitzer award in 1961. It was translated into 40 languages. It was sold over thirty million copies in the whole world. This novel is setting in the fictional town in Maycomb, Alabama. It is a story of a young intelligent girl whose age was from 6 to 9 years. She lived with her brother Jeremy Atticus and her father, Atticus Finch, who was a widower.

  1. The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald

The Great Gatsby was written in 1925 and is often called The Great American Novel. It is a love story of a self-made millionaire Jay Gatsby and a rich young woman Daisy Buchanan. Jay loved Daisy in his youth. Many love stories are discussed in this novel, but the main focus is on Daisy and Jay.

  1. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein

This novel has three parts ‘The fellowship of the ring’ that was published in 1954, ‘The two Towers’ that was published in 1955, and ‘The Return of the King’ which was also published in 1955. Elven-Smith crafted the magic ring of invisibility that has the power to control the whole world, but the Dark Lord got that magic ring for ruling all over the world. These novels have the story of a group of some heroes who save their world from evils.

  1. The Kite Runner by Khalid Husseini

The Kite Runner is published in 2003. The author of this novel is an Afghan American. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. It is the story of two best friends, Amir and Hassan. They both are close as brothers. They play together and fly kites. Amir belongs to a rich family and has everything which he wishes for except the love and attention from his father.

  1. The Hamlet by William Shakespeare

Hamlet is published in 1603. It is the longest novel of William Shakespeare. This book is written on the tragedy of 5 acts of the Prince of Denmark, Hamlet.

  1. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

The Catcher in the Rye is published in 1951. It is the story of two days in the life of a young boy Holden Caulfield whose age is sixteen after he was excluded from school. Holden felt disheartened, and he searched for truth in the ‘phoniness’, but he finished up unstable and exhausted.
